Students from private BAMS colleges in Noida and Delhi NCR can apply for government jobs after BAMS. The main routes are state PSC Ayurvedic Medical Officer posts, UPSC Medical Officer (Ayurveda) posts, National Health Mission contracts, research and teaching. Common rules are a recognised degree, a finished internship, permanent state registration and an age limit of about 35 to 42 years.

Introduction

At some point, most BAMS students wonder about a sarkari job. Is it possible after a private college? Is an MD needed? When do the forms open?

Many parents and students still believe that a government post needs a government college degree. The notices we checked do not say that. This guide explains BAMS jobs, BAMS roles and BAMS recruitment for students of private BAMS colleges in Noida and nearby Delhi NCR. It also shows where DJ Ayurveda in Modinagar, Ghaziabad, fits in.

Can Students of Private BAMS Colleges in Noida Apply for Government Jobs?

Yes. The notices we checked ask for a recognised degree, not a government college. Here is the usual checklist.

  • Degree: BAMS from a recognised university or board
  • Internship: the compulsory rotatory internship, finished by the last date
  • Registration: permanent state registration, or the central register
  • Age limit: 35 years (UPSC 2024), 40 (UPPSC 2022) and 42 (OPSC 2026), before category relaxation
  • Extra rules: some states add their own conditions, so read every notice

These rules stay the same whether a student studies at a private ayurvedic college in Noida or in nearby Ghaziabad. The BAMS course at DJ Ayurveda includes the one-year internship these notices ask for.

Why Registration Matters

NCISM keeps the National Register through its Board of Ethics and Registration. Registered BAMS practitioners are legally recognised in their own system. State councils handle state registration. An April 2026 NCISM instruction for Ayush teachers says permanent registration is what counts for government vacancies. Odisha’s 2026 notice rejects provisional registration.

Government BAMS Roles You Can Apply For

BAMS roles in the public sector run from district clinics to research councils. Table 1 compares the main routes.

Table 1: Government BAMS jobs and who recruits for them

Role Who Recruits Usually Needs
Medical Officer (Ayurveda) State PSCs and UPSC BAMS, internship, registration
NHM and Ayush Mission doctor State health societies BAMS; fixed-term contract
Specialist Medical Officer State PSCs MD Ayurveda in the branch
Assistant Professor State PSCs MD plus 2 to 3 years’ experience
Research Officer CCRAS and Ministry of Ayush Varies by advert

BAMS Jobs Open to Students of Private BAMS Colleges in Noida

Medical Officer (Ayurveda) is the most common post. UPPSC advertised 611 of them in 2022. Two other routes are also open.

  • Ayush doctor at a district hospital or Ayushman Arogya Mandir under NHM
  • Medical Officer or Research Officer at central bodies such as CCRAS

Do Graduates of Private BAMS Colleges in Noida Need an MD?

Not for Medical Officer posts. Specialist and Assistant Professor posts do need an MD Ayurveda, which students reach through AIAPGET. Read the guide to Ayurveda specialisations to pick a branch.

Recruitment Routes and Recent Notifications

A closer look at the notices shows how much the rules differ. Table 2 compares three recent ones.

Table 2: Recent Ayurvedic Medical Officer notifications compared

Notice Posts Age Limit Pay
UPPSC Medical Officer (Ayurveda), 2022 611 21 to 40 years Level 10, ₹56,100 to 1,77,500
UPSC Medical Officer (Ayurveda), Advt 07/2024 40 Up to 35 years Level 10 plus NPA
OPSC Ayurvedic Medical Officer, 2026 32 21 to 42 years Level 10, ₹44,900 basic

Pay differs by state. Always confirm age, pay and dates on the official notice.

How Selection Works

  • Odisha 2026: two objective papers of 100 marks each, 0.25 negative marking, then document checks and a medical board
  • UPSC 2024: a 300-mark objective test, then an interview
  • UPPSC 2022: a screening test if applicants are many
  • NHM posts: fixed-term contracts, often through state-level interviews or adverts

The Numbers Behind BAMS Recruitment

Table 3: Ayush manpower and recruitment figures

Measure Figure
Registered Ayurveda practitioners, 2023 355,416
Ayush doctors with salaries funded under NAM 25,322
Ayush Ayushman Arogya Mandirs working Nearly 12,260 (target 12,500)
NAM funds released, FY2014-15 to FY2025-26 ₹6,406.99 crore
Posts in the 2026 OPSC advert 32

It is worth noting that one state advert offered 32 posts, while 355,416 Ayurveda practitioners were registered in 2023. Not everyone applies to every notice. Still, the gap shows why early preparation matters.

How to Prepare From the First Year of BAMS

  • Clear every professional exam on time, so the internship starts without delay
  • Finish the internship and apply for permanent registration at once
  • Track state PSC, UPSC and NHM notices every month
  • Practise MCQs across all BAMS subjects, since the tests are objective
  • Plan AIAPGET early if an MD is the goal
